Students will have to face CAT for English, this common aptitude test for English. Delhi University in order to maintain uniformity for admission in English Honors course has taken this step. Earlier some colleges were taking admission on the basis of CBSE XII class marks and some colleges were conducting their own test for English Hon. Courses. So there was no uniformity for the admission. With the help of this new CATE will let students take admission in the college they desire in spite of fewer marks in CBSE Board XII class examinations. So its will be a good news for the students.
Earlier the college which giving admission on the basis of CBSE XII class marks were facing problem of poor quality of the students as the CBSE was not conducting any aptitude test for English in CBSE Board Examinations. Some students who took admission last year were not able to perform well in their examinations so this test was introduced to maintain the uniformity and the quality of students for admission.
Eligibility for CATE
The students who have scored at lest 60% or more in English and in the best of four subjects in 12th class
All the interested students can avail application form from the Arts faculty North campus DU.
Test duration will be 90 Minutes
CATE 2009 will be held on 17th june 2009.
